ATHENS, Ga., July 3 (UPI) -- The starting kicker for the University of Georgia could miss part of the upcoming season after officials say he was arrested for boating under the influence.
Marshall Morgan could be preventing from playing at least two of UGA's 12 games this fall under the university's policy of automatic suspension from competition for all alcohol-related arrests, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Tuesday.
However, UGA Athletics Director Greg McGarity said BUI is not directly addressed in the student athlete handbook, so he was not sure what penalties might be applied.
Morgan, a rising Coral Springs, Fla., sophomore, is free on bond after being arrested Sunday by Putnam County sheriff's deputies for operating a watercraft under the influence of alcohol and towing a skier without an observer on board.
He started all 14 games in his freshman season, going 8 of 14 on field goal attempts and 63 of 67 on extra points.
