Tenn. State player arrested after brawl

MURFREESBORO, Tenn., April 9 (UPI) -- Four men, including a Tennessee State University football player, were arrested after a brawl outside the Murfreesboro, Tenn., Elks Lodge, police said.

Police described the incident early Sunday morning as "multiple fights."

Arrested were TSU defensive back Darrian Jonta Hanna, 20, Travis Damon Murphy Jr., 19, Justin Smith, 19, and Raynard Toran Williamson, 19. Hanna was charged with disorderly conduct, underage consumption and public intoxication, Gannett Tennessee reported.

Smith also punched Officer Seth Jackson in the face as Smith ran to a waiting car, Jackson said.

The arrest report said Murphy was charged after he was "observed fighting another individual by security, who repeatedly tried to pull him [Murphy] away while he kept reengaging in the fight."

The four were booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center, the arrest report said.
