COL FB: Florida State 41, Maryland 14

COLLEGE PARK, Md., Nov. 17 (UPI) -- EJ Manuel threw a pair of TD passes and sixth-ranked Florida State beat Maryland 41-14 Saturday to clinch the ACC Atlantic Division title.

Manuel finished the day 17-for-23 for 144 yards and one interception. Devonta Freeman carried 16 times for 148 yards and two touchdowns.

Dustin Hopkins kicked a pair of field goals and five extra points for the Seminoles (10-1, 7-1 ACC) to break the NCAA all-time career scoring record for a kicker. Hopkins needed three points to break the record of 439 points set in 2007-2010 by Kyle Brotzman of Boise State.

Florida State ran up a 27-0 halftime lead and piled up 397 total yards to 170 for Maryland (4-7, 2-5). The Seminoles outran the Terrapins 237-34 yards.

Maryland, which has lost five consecutive games, was scoreless until Shawn Petty hit Kevin Dorsey with a 33-yard touchdown pass with 10:27 remaining in the third. Petty and Dorsey connected again in the final minute of the game on 42-yard TD play.
