COL BKB: Gonzaga 73, Notre Dame 53

SPOKANE, Wash., Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Robert Sacre led an early Gonzaga surge Wednesday and the No. 18 Bulldogs stormed to a 73-53 victory over Notre Dame.

Gonzaga (5-0) remained one of 21 unbeaten teams left in major college basketball after the first three weeks of the season. Wisconsin, Marshall and Missouri State were knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten Wednesday.

The Bulldogs raced to a 25-8 lead with 6 minutes left in the first half. Sacre scored 15 points and David Stockton came off the bench to net 15. Elias Harris had 11 points and 15 rebounds for Gonzaga, which held the Fighting Irish to 20 field goals.

Jerian Grant had 16 points for Notre Dame (5-3).

Among the unbeaten teams left across the country are Tulane, Murray State, Harvard, North Dakota State and Indiana, which stayed that way Wednesday with a victory over North Carolina State.
