Amal Ramzi Clooney (Arabic: أمل علم الدين; née Alamuddin; born 3 February 1978) is a London-based Lebanese-British lawyer, activist, and author. She is a barrister at Doughty Street Chambers, specialising in international law, criminal law, human rights, and extradition.[1] Her clients include Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, in his fight against extradition.[2] She has also represented the former prime minister of Ukraine, Yulia Tymoshenko.[3] In September 2014, she married American actor and director George Clooney.
