(UPI) -- Elizabeth Banks rolled out a succession of flame-colored dresses for her red carpet appearances promoting The Hunger Games last year, so it was no surprise when she chose a bright yellow gown for Monday's world premiere of the sequel, Catching Fire.

Banks, who plays fashion plate Effie Trinket in the films, wore a custom yellow strapless gown by Jason Wu featuring a train and side cutouts. She swept her hair back into an elegant ponytail and wore a Jacob & Co. ring and a Gaydamak handcuff.

Also joining in on the fire-themed gowns were Jena Malone, who joins the franchise as Johanna Mason, in red Monique Lhuillier, and Willow Shields, returning as Primrose Everdeen, wore a butter yellow Emilia Wickstead dress.

Jennifer Lawrence, starring as Katniss Everdeen, sparkled in backless Christian Dior couture and showed off her new short hairstyle.

Later, at the official after party, Banks changed into mint green Michael Kors, but it was the clothes of her companions that really stood out.

Banks shared a photo on Instagram of herself posing with eight fans -- all dressed in elaborate Effie costumes, complete with her signature blonde wig.
