5.7-magnitude earthquake felt in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, July 19 (UPI) -- A moderate earthquake measuring close to 5.7 magnitude shook areas near Tajikistan's border with Pakistan and Afghanistan, officials said Thursday.

No damage or loss of life was immediately reported, PPI reported.

Pakistani officials said the tremors were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Swat, North Waziristan, Nowshera and Abbottabad.

The quake's epicenter was 18 miles southwest of Khorugh, Tajikistan, and 40 miles northeast of Jarm, Afghanistan, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
