St. Louis Blues center Patrik Berglund is expected to be sidelined until December after undergoing surgery to repair a dislocated left shoulder, the team announced Wednesday.
Berglund sustained the injury during his offseason conditioning program in his native Sweden. The 29-year-old will have a late start before entering the first season of a five-year, $19.25 million contract in 2017-18.
Berglund posted a career-high 23 goals to go along with 11 assists while playing in all 82 regular-season games in 2016-17.
The 6-foot-4, 223-pound forward has collected 296 points (151 goals, 145 assists) in 637 career contests since being selected by St. Louis with the 25th overall pick of the 2006 NHL draft.
