New York Rangers send G Magnus Hellberg to Hartford

The New York Rangers assigned goaltender Magnus Hellberg to Hartford of the American Hockey League on Thursday.

Hellberg appeared in one game with the Rangers, stopping all four shots he faced while making his season debut against the Dallas Stars on Jan. 17.

The 6-foot-6 Hellberg posted a 10-9-4 mark with a 2.91 goals-against average and .905 save percentage in 25 games with the Wolf Pack this season.

Hellberg has allowed two goals or fewer in four of his last five AHL appearances, recording a 3-2-0 mark with a 1.80 goals-against average and .942 save percentage in that stretch.
