COL BKB: Wichita State 75, Brigham Young 62

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Ron Baker scored 23 points Tuesday to lead 12th-ranked Wichita State to a 75-62 win over Brigham Young in the title game of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic.

Wichita State (7-0) outscored the Cougars (5-2) 41-26 in the second half to win the game despite shooting a tepid 34.8 percent.

Baker did much of his damage from the free-throw line, where he was perfect in 11 tries. Fred VanVleet scored 10 of his 12 points in the final six minutes of the game. Cleanthony Early also had 12 points.

Matt Carlino scored 21 to lead BYU. He scored just three points in the second half during which the Cougars failed to score a field goal in the last 8 1/2 minutes of the game.
