WICHITA, Kan., Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Fred VanVleet scored four points in a game-closing run Thursday that allowed No. 16 Wichita State to pull away for a 79-62 win over William & Mary.
The Shockers led by only eight with 4:50 remaining but finished the contest on a 10-1 rush. Wichita State is 2-0 for the young season and the Tribe is 1-1.

VanVleet went 9-of-11 from the foul line and scored 18 points to lead the Shockers. Cleanthony Early pitched in 14 points and Ron Blake had 13.
Marcus Thornton scored 18 points for William & Mary.
