WICHITA, Kan., Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Cleanthony Early and Ron Baker combined for 38 points Saturday, lifting No. 16 Wichita State to a season-opening 93-50 spanking of Emporia State.

Early netted 21 points and Baker supplied 17 with six assists for the Shockers (1-0), who kicked off the 2013-14 season following an appearance in last season's NCAA Tournament Final Four.

Fred VanVleet helped out with 12 points, six rebounds and six assists.

Terrence Moore provided 15 points and five rebounds for the Hornets in a game that counted only as an exhibition for them.

Kaleb Wright scored 12 points for Emporia State.
