SOUTH BEND, Ind., Nov. 8 (UPI) -- A dominating effort from Jerian Grant Friday pushed No. 22 Notre Dame to a 74-62 victory over Miami (Ohio).
It took a big performance from Grant for the Fighting Irish to survive an upset bid by a team that opened the game with just two points in the first five minutes.

Grant made 9-of-14 from the field with five of his field goals coming from 3-point range. He contributed five assists.
Notre Dame made half its field goal tries and went 10-of-20 from long range in its season opener. Tom Knight added 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting for the Irish.
Miami picked up 21 points from Reggie Johnson.
