NEW YORK, April 3 (UPI) -- Iowa beat Maryland 71-60 at Madison Square Garden Tuesday to earn a berth in the NIT championship game against Baylor.
Roy Devyn Marble led the Hawkeyes (25-12) with 21 points and nine rebounds, and Eric May added 12 points.
Iowa scored 27 points off turnovers to just two for Maryland (25-12). Maryland committed 16 turnovers to Iowa's two.
Alex Len led Maryland with 12 points and Aaron White scored 10 points, eight of them from the free throw line.
Iowa led 38-33 at halftime but Maryland mounted a comeback early in the second half but was unable to overtake the Hawkeyes, who put the game on ice with a 3-pointer by May with 1:01 to play.
