Fugitive hunt postpones Ohio U. game

ATHENS, Ohio, Jan. 30 (UPI) -- An Ohio University men's basketball game against Eastern Michigan was postponed Wednesday after reports of an armed fugitive in the area closed the campus.

Classes at the Athens, Ohio, university were canceled for the day after police received reports of an armed robbery at a nearby apartment complex around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, WOWK-TV, Charleston, W.Va., reported.

The gunman remained at large late Wednesday afternoon, the broadcaster said, as additional police officers were posted to the campus.

School officials said the Mid American Conference game has been rescheduled for Feb. 20.

Classes are to resume Thursday, Ohio University President Roderick McDavis announced.
