COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Deshaun Thomas scored 19 points and William Buford added 17 Tuesday, powering No. 9 Ohio State to an 83-67 decision over Illinois.

Thomas also grabbed five rebounds and Aaron Craft contributed 11 as the Buckeyes (23-5, 11-4 Big Ten) got back on the winning track following a Saturday loss to then-No. 17 Michigan.

OSU cruised to the victory despite an ineffective contest from leading scorer Jared Sullinger (17.5 points per game), who managed only nine points before fouling out.

The Illini (16-12, 5-10) were paced by 21 points from Meyers Leonard.
