COL BKB: Notre Dame 74, Villanova 70 (OT)

VILLANOVA, Pa., Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Notre Dame's Pat Connaughton netted a pair of 3-pointers in overtime Saturday and the 25th-ranked Fighting Irish rallied for a 74-70 win over Villanova.

Connaughton drained seven treys in all as Notre Dame (19-8, 11-3 Big East) fought back from a 20-point deficit to claim an eighth straight Big East Conference win -- a first for the Irish in 11 years.

Jack Cooley helped out with a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds while Eric Atkins chipped in with 17 points as Notre Dame remained tied with Marquette for second place in the conference standings.

The Wildcats (11-15, 4-10) were led by JayVaughn Pinkston with 24 points and Dominic Cheek provided 19 points in the loss.
