COL BKB: North Carolina 83, Maryland 74

COLLEGE PARK, Md., Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Tyler Zeller put in 22 points for North Carolina Saturday and the co-No. 6 Tar Heels logged their fifth straight win with an 83-74 verdict over Maryland.

Harrison Barnes contributed 18 points, and John Henson added 17 and 12 rebounds for the Tar Heels (20-3, 7-1 ACC), who won for only the third time in eight visits to Maryland.

Kendall Marshall dished off a career-high 16 assists as North Carolina stayed hot following its sole conference loss last month to Florida State.

The Terrapins (13-9, 3-5) hung tough until late in the game.

Terrell Stoglin led Maryland with 20 points, while Alex Len supplied 12, nine rebounds and four blocks.
