COL BKB: Wisconsin 57, Indiana 50

MADISON, Wis., Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Ryan Evans made four free throws in the final 1:04 Thursday and co-No. 25 Wisconsin scored the game's last six points to down No. 17 Indiana 57-50.

An intense defensive battle was close throughout the second half and Indiana trailed by just one with 2:10 remaining after Christian Watford hit a jumper.

The Hoosiers did not score again, missing their last three shots.

After Watford's basket, Wisconsin claimed two offensive rebounds that allowed the Badgers to keep the ball for more than a minute before Evans hit two foul shots for a three-point lead.

Mike Bruesewitz added two free throws with 16 seconds left and Evans finished the scoring with two more in the final 3 seconds.

Ben Brust scored 13 points off the bench for the Badgers while Evans had 12. Wisconsin (17-5, 6-3 Big Ten Conference) won its fifth straight and pulled within a half game of conference front runners Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State.

Watford and Verdell Jones both had 12 points for the Hoosiers (16-5, 4-5).
