STORRS, Conn., Jan. 18 (UPI) -- A 3-point shot by Sean Kilpatrick with 3 seconds to go Wednesday lifted Cincinnati to a 70-67 upset over No. 11 Connecticut.
Kilpatrick's long-range shot was his fourth of the game and the 11th for the Bearcats, who won for the 10th time in 11 games.
Cincinnati had an eight-point lead with 3 minutes to play, but the Huskies cut their deficit to two with 22 seconds left on a free throw from Shabazz Napier.
Dion Dixon boosted Cincinnati's advantage back to three with 19 seconds by making 1-of-2 from the line, but Napier tied it with a 3-pointer inside the 10-second mark.
That set up Kilpatrick for his game-winning basket. Niels Giffey's desperation 3-point try for Connecticut from 70 feet away hit the rim but did not go in.
Kilpatrick led the Bearcats (15-4, 5-1) with 16 points and both Cashmere Wright and Yancey Gates had 13.
Connecticut (14-4, 4-3) got 27 points from Napier.
