COL BKB: Syracuse 78, Providence 55

SYRACUSE, N.Y., Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Kris Joseph put in 13 points and Scoop Jardine had nine assists for top-ranked Syracuse Saturday, sparking the Orange's 78-55 rout of Providence.

Jardine added 10 points and Dion Waiters provided 12 for Syracuse (19-0, 6-0 Big East), which equaled a school record for the most consecutive wins to start a season.

The Orange also went 19-0 to begin the 1999-2000 season.

Providence (12-7, 1-5) was led by Kadeem Batts, who netted a team-high 13 points.

LaDontae Henton contributed a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the Friars' setback.
