COL BKB: Missouri 76, Iowa State 69

AMES, Iowa, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Matt Pressey was one of six Missouri players in double figures Wednesday and the No. 9 Tigers put on a late rush to get past Iowa State 76-69.

Missouri was coming off its first loss of the season, a 75-59 defeat Saturday at the hands of Kansas State.

The Tigers had a fight throughout the game with the Cyclones, but Missouri went on a 7-1 run to take an eight-point lead with 5:05 to play.

Iowa State came back within three when Chris Allen hit a 3-pointer with 23 seconds to play, but Marcus Denmon made two free throws for the Tigers two seconds later to give Missouri a cushion.

Pressey scored 14 points while Ricardo Ratliffe, Phil Pressey and Michael Dixon all had 12 for Missouri (15-1, 2-1 Big 12 Conference).

Iowa State (12-4, 2-1) was led by 19 points from Scott Christopherson. The Cyclones had won their previous seven games.
