COL BKB: Kansas 72, Oklahoma 61

NORMAN, Okla., Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Travis Releford poured in 28 points Saturday and 15th-ranked Kansas rolled to a 72-61 Big 12 Conference victory over Oklahoma.

Releford drained 3-of-5 shots from 3-point territory and finished 9-of-13 overall in posting a career high for the Jayhawks (12-3, 2-0 Big 12).

Kansas logged its fifth straight win with a strong performance from Thomas Robinson, who added 18 points and nine rebounds.

The Jayhawks also used a tough defense, holding the Sooners to just 29.6 percent shooting during the decisive first 11 minutes of the second half.

Oklahoma (10-4, 0-2) got 14 points from Steven Pledger while Andrew Fitzgerald and Carl Blair each added 11 for the Sooners.
