COL BKB: Indiana 89, Maryland-Balt. Co. 47

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Christian Watford led the way with 22 points Thursday to help No. 18 Indiana remain unbeaten with an 89-47 crushing of Maryland-Baltimore County.

The Hoosiers improved to 12-0, their best start to a season since they went 32-0 and won a national championship during the 1975-76 season.

Watford hit four of Indiana's 11 3-pointers and the Hoosiers held UMBC to 31 percent shooting.

Jordan Hulls added 16 for Indiana while Matt Roth had 14 and Cody Zeller 13.

The Retrievers (1-10) were led by 10 points each from Chase Plummer, Ryan Cook and Quentin Jones.

UMBC's only win this season came Dec. 10 against Towson. Indiana defeated then-No. 1 Kentucky the same day.
