COL BKB: Syracuse 69, Stanford 63

NEW YORK, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- A 3-pointer by Kris Joseph touched off a game-closing 18-5 run Friday that brought No. 5 Syracuse a 69-63 win over Stanford in the NIT Season Tip-Off finals.

The late rally during the concluding 4:30 kept Syracuse unbeaten in six games this season.

Stanford's largest lead came at 55-47 at the close of a 9-2 run, but the Cardinal (5-1) wilted down the stretch.

Joseph led the Orange with 18 points and Scoop Jardine had 14. Aaron Bright had 13 points for Stanford.

The teams combined to turn the ball over 44 times, with the Cardinal committing 24 of the turnovers.
