NEW YORK, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Elston Turner hit the game-winning shot with 8 seconds remaining Friday, lifting No. 18 Texas A&M to a 58-57 decision over St. John's.
Nurideen Lindsey had a chance to put St. John's back in front with 3 seconds to go, but he missed two free throws and Turner grabbed the rebound after the second miscue to clinch the victory.

The teams met in the third-place game of the 2K Sports Classic.
Ray Turner led the Aggies (3-1) with 16 points. Texas A&M went to the foul line just three times while St. John's had 38 free throw attempts. The Red Storm, however, missed 16 of those tries and they also shot a mere 35 percent from the field.
St. John's (3-2) was led by D'Angelo Harrison and Lindsey with 12 points each.
