COL BKB: Connecticut 80, Maine 60

HARTFORD, Conn., Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Alex Oriakhi and Jeremy Lamb helped key a 17-point run in the second half Thursday that lifted No. 4 Connecticut to an 80-60 decision over Maine.

The Huskies (3-0) held only a five-point advantage at intermission and expanded it to nine in the early stages of the second half. Connecticut then embarked on its huge run that boosted its lead to 59-33.

Oriakhi and Lamb both scored 16 points, while DeAndre Daniels added 15 for the defending national champion Huskies. Andre Drummond contributed 14 rebounds to go with 11 points.

Maine (1-1) was paced by Justin Edwards with 20 points.

Connecticut grabbed 30 offensive rebounds and wound up outrebounding Maine overall by a 51-24 margin.
