'Boardwalk,' 'Breaking Bad,' 'Homeland' earn SAG Award nominations

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- "Boardwalk Empire," "Breaking Bad," "Downton Abbey," "Game of Thrones" and "Homeland" were nominated for Best Drama Ensemble by Hollywood's Screen Actors Guild.

In the running for Best Comedy Ensemble on television are the stars of "30 Rock," "Arrested Development," "The Big Bang Theory," "Modern Family" and "Veep."

Up for Best Actor in a Drama are Steve Buscemi for "Boardwalk Empire," Bryan Cranston for "Breaking Bad," Jeff Daniels for "The Newsroom,"

Peter Dinklage for "Game of Thrones" and Kevin Spacey for "House of Cards."

The nominees for Best Actress in a Drama are Claire Danes for "Homeland," Anna Gunn for "Breaking Bad," Jessica Lange for "American Horror Story: Coven," Maggie Smith for "Downton Abbey" and Kerry Washington for "Scandal."

Shortlisted for Best Actor in a Comedy are Alec Baldwin for "30 Rock," Jason Bateman for "Arrested Development," Ty Burrell for "Modern Family," Don Cheadle for "House of Lies" and Jim Parsons for "The Big Bang Theory."

The nominees for Best Actress in a Comedy are Mayim Bialik for "The Big Bang Theory," Julie Bowen for "Modern Family," Edie Falco for "Nurse Jackie," Tina Fey for "30 Rock" and Julia Louis-Dreyfus for "Veep."

Winners are to be announced at the 20th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony Jan. 18.
