'12 Years a Slave,' 'Dallas Buyers Club' nominated for SAG Awards

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- The stars of "12 Years a Slave," "American Hustle" and "August: Osage County" were nominated for Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles Wednesday.

The casts of those three films will compete against the actors in "The Dallas Buyers Club" and "Lee Daniels' The Butler" for the Best Ensemble in a Feature prize.

Up for Best Actress are Cate Blanchett for "Blue Jasmine," Sandra Bullock for "Gravity," Judi Dench for "Philomena," Meryl Streep for "August: Osage County" and Emma Thompson for "Saving Mr. Banks."

In the running for Best Actor are Bruce Dern for "Nebraska," Chiwetel Ejiofor for "12 Years a Slave," Tom Hanks for "Captain Phillips," Matthew McConaughey for "The Dallas Buyers Club" and Forest Whitaker for "Lee Daniels' The Butler."

Shortlisted for Best Supporting Actress are Jennifer Lawrence for "American Hustle," Lupita Nyong'o for "12 Years a Slave," Julia Roberts for "August: Osage County," June Squibb for "Nebraska" and Oprah Winfrey for "Lee Daniels' The Butler."

Competing for Best Supporting Actor are Barkhad Abdi for "Captain Phillips," Daniel Bruhl for "Rush," Michael Fassbender for "12 Years a Slave," the late James Gandolfini for "Enough Said" and Jared Leto for "Dallas Buyers Club."

Winners are to be announced at the 20th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony Jan. 18.
