AFI honors Arquette family

LOS ANGELES, May 10 (UPI) -- The American Film Institute Wednesday honored Hollywood's Arquette family with its AFI Associates Platinum Circle Award at a star-studded gala in Los Angeles.

Rosanna, Richmond, Patricia, Alexis and David Arquette as well as Courteney Cox Arquette and Thomas Jane attended the ceremony at the Regent Wilshire Beverly Hotel, AFI said in a news release. Posthumous tributes were also presented to Cliff and Lewis Arquette.

Among the event's celebrity speakers were Roseanne Barr, Bobby Bukowski, Michael Goorjian, Peter Marshall, Paul Reubens and Matthew Perry. Guests included Jennifer Aniston, Laura Dern, Florence Henderson, Mickey Rooney and Jake Weber.

The AFI Associates Platinum Circle Award is awarded each year to recognize a family's creative contributions to the entertainment community.

Past honorees include the Penns, the Fondas and the Reynolds/Fisher family.
