April 25 (UPI) -- Paramount+ has announced Season 3 of its crime drama, Mayor of Kingstown, starring Jeremy Renner, is set to premiere on June 2.

Co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, the show follows the McLusky family, who live and work in the titular Michigan town where most residents are criminals, law-enforcement or prison employees.

"In Season 3, a series of explosions rock Kingstown and its citizens, as a new face of the Russian mob sets up shop in the city, and a drug war rages inside and outside prison walls," a synopsis said.

"The pressure is on Mike McLusky (Renner) to end the war but things get complicated when a familiar face from his incarcerated past threatens to undermine the mayor's attempts to keep the peace among all factions."

Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Nishi Munshi, Hamish Allan-Headley and Michael Beach.

Season 2 premiered in early 2023, shortly after Renner suffered a serious snowplowing incident at his Nevada home that required him to undergo several surgeries and months of physical therapy.
