Nov. 20 (UPI) -- The Edmonton Oilers have hired Ken Hitchcock to replace former coach Todd McLellan.
Edmonton announced the hire on Tuesday. Hitchcock owns a 823-506 record as an NHL head coach. He also has 88 ties and 119 overtime/shootout losses during his 22-year coaching tenure for the Dallas Stars, St. Louis Blues, Columbus Blue Jackets and Philadelphia Flyers.
