WASHINGTON, April 10 (UPI) -- Former Deputy White House Chief of Staff Karl Rove says U.S. Vice President Joe Biden is a "serial exaggerator."

Rove, who served under former President George W. Bush, criticized Biden's recent comments about Bush and former Vice President Dick Cheney, CNN reported Friday.

"He's a serial exaggerator. If I was being unkind I'd say he's a liar but it is a habit he ought to drop," Rove said Thursday in reaction to Biden's comments.

When talking to CNN Tuesday, Biden countered critical comments made by Cheney regarding the current administration's foreign policy tactics.

The current vice president also spoke of an Oval Office meeting he said he had with Bush in which he responded to Bush's claim to be a leader by telling him: "Mr. President, turn (around and) look behind you. No one is following."

Members of the Bush administration dispute that the exchange took place as Biden related it.
