WASHINGTON, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney Monday pulled a muscle while moving, and will be in a wheelchair for the inauguration of Barack Obama, the White House said.

Cheney pulled a muscle in his back, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said in a statement, CNN reported.

"Under his physician's recommendation, the Vice President will be in a wheelchair for the next couple of days, including for tomorrow's inauguration," the statement said. "The Vice President is looking forward to being there for tomorrow's historic inaugural activities."
