Obama, McCain take Delaware

WILMINGTON, Del., Feb. 5 (UPI) -- U.S. senators Barack Obama and John McCain won the Democratic and Republican primaries Tuesday in Delaware.

With all election districts reporting, Obama had 53.1 percent of the vote to 42.3 percent for Sen. Hillary Clinton on the Democratic side, the Wilmington News-Journal reported. Since Democrats split the delegates proportionally in Delaware, Obama will get over half of the 23 at stake.

On the Republican side, McCain led with 45 percent of the vote to 32.5 percent for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and 15.3 percent for former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. Republicans operate a winner-take-all primary, giving McCain 18 delegates.
