Supermarket roof collapses in Colorado

AURORA, Colo., Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Authorities are blaming the more than 2 feet of snow that fell in the Denver area for the collapse Friday of a supermarket roof in Aurora, Colo.

"It's all caved in," Aurora Fire Capt. Mike Anderson told the Denver Post. "The walls were pushed put."

No one was inside the Save A lot food store when the roof caved in Friday morning and no injuries were reported. Officials evacuated employees and patrons from other stores in the Hoffman Heights Shopping Center as a precaution.

The supermarket building, built in the 1950s, was not expected to reopen anytime soon.
