Abbas commented on Palestinian readiness following meetings with PA Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia and U.S. peace process coordinator Lt. Gen. William Ward.

Abbas condemned the Thursday's killing of a 25-year-old militant member of al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades in Nablus by Israeli soldiers. Israel said the man opened fire first.

Meanwhile, Palestinian sources said Abbas intends to head for talks in Jordan and Egypt to discuss the preparations for the intended Israeli pullout.
