Bomb at Turkish concert injures 14

ISTANBUL, Turkey, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- A bomb placed under a police car at a pop concert in Mercin, Turkey, injured at least 14 people, the BBC reported Sunday.

Two police officers among the wounded were reported to be in critical condition. Bomb disposal experts destroyed another suspicious package at the concert venue, said the office of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The explosion happened during a performance by Turkish singer Candan Ercetin.

It was not known Sunday who was behind the blast, the BBC said. Turkey has a history of attacks by militants linked to Kurdish, Islamist and leftist causes.
