Watch: Mic'd up NHL fight is awkwardly polite

March 15 (UPI) -- It had all the makings of a standard hockey fight. Fists were full of jersey and jabs were exchanged.

But what was said between Brenden Dillon and Austin Watson was something most fans wouldn't expect to hear.

During the Nashville Predators' 3-1 win Saturday against the San Jose Sharks, the two tangoed on the boards. After several exchanges, they started chatting.

"You want it," asked the Sharks defenseman Dillon.

"Yeah," Watson responded after trading several uppercuts.

"Done boy," one of them asked.

"Atta boy, good job," the other responds.

They resumed the conversation in the penalty box.

"Hey Watts, we gotta work on our cardio this summer, huh," Dillon asked.

"I'm dying after like 10 seconds man," Watson said. "Ill come see Joey. We'll mix it in."

"Joey doesn't know cardio," Dillon responds.

"Good luck the rest of the year bud," Watson said.

"Thanks, you too buddy," Dillon says.

Dillon, 26, has played six seasons for the Dallas Stars and Sharks. Watson has played all three of his seasons for the Predators. Watson is 3-6-3 in fights this year, according to HockeyFights.com. Dillon is 3-0-1. The duo's fight Saturday was ruled a draw.
