Kentucky gets richer, 'Bam' picks Wildcats

LEXINGTON, Ky., Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Coach John Calipari is filling jerseys in Lexington with premier talent once again.

On Tuesday, another top-10 high school recruit decided to lace up for the Kentucky Wildcats next season.

Power forward Edrice "Bam" Adebayo joins De'Aaron Fox, Wenyen Gabriel and Sacha Killeya-Jones in an already stacked 2016 class.

Top recruits Malik Monk, Rawle Alkins, Kobi Simmons, Jarrett Allen and Marques Bolden are still deciding where to take their services, and could add to Calipari's crew.

The 6-foot-8, 235-pound, North Carolina product averaged 14.2 points and 10.6 rebounds on the AAU circuit this spring, according to ESPN's Paul Biancardi.

"They're a winning program with a great all-around environment," Adebayo told Mike & Mike on ESPN Radio. "I just like the staff, and I like Coach Cal [John Calipari]."

Adebayo is ranked No. 6 in the ESPN 100, while Fox, who announced his commitment last Thursday, is ranked No. 7.

"It's just a blessing. It's like something you just can't describe, like a one-in-a-million type of chance and opportunity," Adebayo said on the radio show. "They're a winning program. They're just a great all-around environment. I just like the staff, and I like Coach Cal."

Kentucky is ranked No. 2 for its 2016 recruiting class by 247 Sports, while Duke holds the top spot.
