COL BKB: Southern Methodist 74, Connecticut 65

STORRS, Conn., Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Nick Russell and Nic Moore netted 15 points apiece Sunday, propelling Southern Methodist to a 74-65 victory over 21st-ranked Connecticut.

Markus Kennedy provided 13 points with seven rebounds as the Mustangs (22-6, 11-4 AAC) bested the Huskies for a second time this season.

SMU notched a fourth win in five contests against ranked teams this season and snapped Connecticut's four-game winning streak.

Ryan Boatright and Shabazz Napier each put in 15 points for UConn (21-6, 9-5), combining to go just 8-of-28 from the field.
