"Safety is our No.1 priority," Indiana Athletics Director Fred Glass said in a statement. "Our university engineers have advised us to postpone events in Assembly Hall until it can be determined what caused the facing to fall and ensure the safety of everyone attending an event in the facility."

A women's basketball game set for Wednesday between Michigan and Indiana has also been postponed.

No makeup date has been announced for either game. The next Indiana men's basketball home game is scheduled for March 2.
