ANN ARBOR, Mich., Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Glen Robinson III sent No. 16 Michigan to an overwhelming first half Wednesday and the Wolverines coasted to a 79-50 win over Nebraska.

Michigan bounced back from a loss at Indiana last Sunday to take the lead by itself in the Big Ten Conference race.

Robinson scored 23 points and Michigan built a 49-21 lead at intermission. The Wolverines outscored the Cornhuskers by 24 points during the final 12 minutes of the opening period.

Michigan is 17-5 for the season and the Wolverines climbed to 9-1 in the Big Ten, a half game in front of Michigan State. Iowa, at 6-3, is the only other team in the league with a winning conference record.

Shavon Shields scored 13 points for Nebraska (11-10, 3-6 Big Ten).
