SYRACUSE, N.Y., Jan. 4 (UPI) -- C.J. Fair had 15 points and six rebounds Saturday, helping No. 2 Syracuse down Miami (Fla.) 49-44 in its first Atlantic Coast Conference game.

Trevor Cooney contributed 11 points for the Orange (14-0, 1-0 ACC), who joined the ACC in July after 34 years as a founding member of the Big East Conference.

Tyler Ennis scored 10 points and handed out seven assists.

Garrius Adams led the the Hurricanes (8-6, 0-2) with nine points. Manu Lecomte and James Kelly each added eight.
