COL BKB: Memphis 69, Cincinnati 53

MEMPHIS, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Sean Kilpatrick scored 18 points Saturday while leading Cincinnati past 18th-ranked Memphis 69-53.

Kilpatrick hit 5-of-11 shots from the field and sank seven free throws in Cincinnati's sixth straight win.

Justin Jackson 13 points and blocked seven shots for the Bearcats (13-2, 2-0 AAC), who outscored Memphis (10-3, 1-1) 42-27 in the second half.

Joe Jackson led the Tigers with 13 points and Michael Dixon added 12.

Memphis lost its first home game of the season and saw its three-game winning streak closed out.

Cincinnati led 27-26 at halftime. There was a spate of lead changes early in the second half, with the Bearcats taking control with a 13-3 run after Memphis had tied the score 39-39 with just over 12 1/2 minutes to play.
