
NEW YORK, March 13 (UPI) -- Brandon Triche and C.J. Fair fired a 19-2 run Wednesday that carried No. 20 Syracuse to a 75-63 win over Seton Hall in the Big East Tournament in New York.
Syracuse (24-8) advances to the Big East quarterfinals Thursday against No. 19 Pittsburgh. The Seton Hall Pirates were left with a 15-18 record.
The Pirates led by 10 in the first half before Syracuse came back and tied the score 34-34 at halftime.
The score was tied again at 46-46 6 minutes into the second half, but Fair ignited the 19-2 run with a jumper. James Southerland followed with a 3-point shot and Fair hit another jump shot. Triche had seven consecutive points later in the run, which ended with a Baye Keita layup with 4:44 to go and the Orange up 65-48.
Southerland ended with a team-high 20 points while Triche added 17 points and Fair 16 for Syracuse. Aaron Crosby had 22 points for Seton Hall in leading all scorers.
