Jan. 30, 2013 at 10:32 PM

BATON ROUGE, La., Jan. 30 (UPI) -- Anthony Hickey helped stake LSU to a 10-point lead in the second half Wednesday and the Tigers held on to surprise No. 18 Missouri 73-70.

LSU survived shaky free-throw shooting down the stretch to win for just the second time in seven games.

Phil Pressey brought Missouri within two on a layup with 15 seconds remaining, after which LSU missed 3-of-4 free throw attempts.

Missouri, however, could not take advantage. Pressey missed a 3-point try with 7 seconds to play and Missouri could not get off a shot after grabbing a defensive rebound with 4 seconds remaining.

Hickey scored 20 points and Andre Stringer added 18 for LSU (11-7, 2-6 Southeastern Conference). LSU shot 54 percent from the field and limited Missouri to 37 percent.

Pressey led Missouri (15-5, 4-3) with 25 points.
