Duke moves to No. 2 in coaches' poll

MCLEAN, Va., Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Duke jumps to No. 2 in the USA Today Coaches' college basketball poll behind only top-ranked Indiana.

The Blue Devils (6-0) have wins this year over Kentucky and Louisville, which were ranked third and second, respectively, when they played Duke, and will have another big test Wednesday when they face No. 4 Ohio State. Duke moves from fifth to No. 2, even getting four first-place votes, in the poll update released Monday.

Indiana (6-0) received the other 27 first-place mentions, one more than a week ago.

No team other than Indiana is in the same place as a week ago and the Top 25 features four teams that were unranked last week.

Michigan (5-0) edges past Big Ten rival Ohio State (4-0) for the No. 3 spot with Syracuse (4-0) up one place to fifth.

Louisville (5-1) slides from second to No. 6 while Florida (5-0) passes Kentucky (4-1) for seventh, leaving the Wildcats in eighth. Arizona (3-0) and Kansas (4-1) are both up one spot to ninth and 10th, respectively.

Creighton (6-0) is 11th after a week at No. 12 and Gonzaga (6-0) moves up four spots to 12th. North Carolina (5-1) drops from ninth to 13th while Michigan State (5-1) improves five places to No. 14. That move barely pushes Missouri (5-1) down one to 15th.

San Diego State (4-1) moves up four to 21st with Illinois (7-0) in at 22nd and New Mexico the 23rd-ranked team. UCLA (4-2) plummets 11 places to 24 and Georgetown (4-1) comes in at 25th.

In addition to Colorado, Illinois, New Mexico and Georgetown are newly ranked this week. Memphis, Baylor, Connecticut and Wisconsin fall out of the Top 25.

In addition to the Duke-Ohio State matchup, the ACC-Big 10 Challenge also has North Carolina playing at Indiana and North Carolina State at Michigan as the key games of the week.
