COL BKB: Virginia 61, N.C. State 60

RALEIGH, N.C., Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Mike Scott notched 18 points Saturday and No. 21 Virginia held on for a 61-60 win over North Carolina State when the Wolfpack missed a shot at the buzzer.

Lorenzo Brown was guarded tightly by Virginia's Sammy Zeglinski and Jontel Evans when he launched a 3-point try as time expired. The attempt from the right side fell short and Virginia (17-3, 4-2 ACC) emerged with the victory.

The Cavaliers won their second straight game with the help of Zeglinski and Sam Harris, each of whom contributed 12 points.

North Carolina State (15-7, 4-3) was led by C.J. Leslie with 17 points. Richard Howell added 11 and 18 rebounds.
