COL BKB: Pittsburgh 80, Duquesne 69

PITTSBURGH, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Ashton Gibbs made four of Pittsburgh's 11 3-point field goals Wednesday and led a second-half surge that gave the No. 17 Panthers an 80-69 win over Duquesne.

Gibbs scored 18 points and the Panthers (6-1) won their fourth straight since losing to Long Beach State.

Duquesne (4-3) was within four points in the second half when Pittsburgh went on a 15-6 run. Pittsburgh made 11-of-22 shots from 3-point range and hit 54 percent from the floor overall.

Dante Taylor added 13 points off the bench for Pittsburgh. The Panthers played without freshman guard Cameron Wright, who was suspended by Coach Jamie Dixon for a violation of team rules. Wright scored 13 points in a win over Robert Morris last Sunday.

Pittsburgh turned the ball over 24 times, but outrebounded the Dukes 33-14. Duquesne was paced by Sean Johnson's 19 points.
